Dishkiyaav Experiences !!!

My project ended on April 28th, 2011 and i landed in virginia on April 29th. Now i was flying to India on May 6th and we got a time gap of around 4-5 days. I had this buffer for shopping while i planned the trip but i didnt want to waste my time in relaxing. So i proposed an idea of shooting a shortfilm which will be really short. Our original script and project of Dishikiyaav was tuff to implement as we thought its a bigger project and it involved comedy in it. We wanted something which can be winded up really fast. So i used the characters which ive build for Original Dishkiyaav and created a another version which is lil bit serious in narration and decided to shoot it.
The problem was our DOP Suresh was in India and the worst part was our camera was along with him. But as everyone knows it just takes pure will to do something but not physical entities. I researched a lil on the DSLR's and chose Nikon D5000 as our camera for our new project. We bought it and i decided to shoot it myself now playing the role of a DOP.
We started shooting immediately and it took us around 3-4 days for the shooting to complete (80%). But the problem i faced was to handle the camera were i came to know how important a DOP is for a movie to look good. I screwed up the footage a lil bit in the form of focus errors but though the locations and framing were appreciated. I was dissapointed not only becoz of some errors but also becoz of the sound. Nikon wudnt record the sound so efficiently hence i decided to re-record the voices for the talkie scenes.
I flew to India and did some major editing work whenever i got time and this time moving a step ahead. After i came back to US on June 20th, we designed a trailer and put it on facebook for which we got good comments. We have also re-recorded the voices and shot the rest of the scenes.
But to my irony, everyone thought that the shortfilm which we shot was Dishkiyaav itself, as i also posted some messages saying that our next project is Dishkiyaav, but it was not. Even me myself submitted to the thought becoz there was more firing of bullets in the second untitled shortfilm than in the original script.
Though i didnt do it with all my heart, upon various suggestions and discussions we named our second project as DISHKIYAAV. This is almost ready except the BGS.
