Toon Boom Studio 5

Film making has been my dream since i realized my inner potential. I made a short film with a run-time of around 30 mins and then my thoughts are towards what next. Since i have not dedicated myself completely towards Film-making, planning something for next will be a huge task not in planning but executing it. I can write a script and screenplay for a short film but in converting it into an exact film would be a tremendous task for me in co-ordinating the timings of the actors and other crew, including myself to get onto the floors. 

But since i mostly keep thinking of film-making. I have come up with an brilliant idea( i think it to be) of making an Animation Flick. An animation flick is no less than a movie as far as iam concerned since all the efforts we need to make a regular movie are same in animation flick except for the reason Actors dont act in animation but we have to develop animated characters and add similar expressions and gestures to be performed by those characters just as Actors do.

Now for this i dont need Actors. I dont need Cinematographer. I dont need to adjust schedules and timings. But still i can put my thoughts into a movie while still being involved in my other routine work. All i need is Toon Boom Studio 5.

This is a Animation software, though its basic it can give me enough kick start for Animation film-making. Iam trying to learn animation myself sitting at home and iam pretty confident that i would come up with something extra-ordinary as a layman.

The Long Dream under Water D-10 (01/26/2011)

I was in a pond in the shape of a rectangle and depth of around 7-8 feet. There were many other friends with me in the pond. We were going under the water and trying to look up to the banks of the pond through he crystal clear water. Every now and then my dream was cutting to a Ride in car with me and some other folks. Even the ride was thrilling as if we are on a roller coaster. But most of the dream i was in a pond with some issue going on with a Ring which sank in the pond but simultneously being visible on the banks and at the bed of the pond. We were swimming into the water and coming out. Discussing some serious issues. Mostly what i rememeber is looking up to the bank from under water. Nice Dream !!!

Painless Wound D-9 (01/24/2011)

I was in a room where me and friends sleep at night. It was day time though i was seeing my friend Bharat sleeping at a corner of the room just beside the door. Then i went out to see him having food in the kitchen and i think even i had food. I remember i was delicious. After a while quite few characters i met in my life went here and there in front of me and out of no where someone shot me with a pistol in my stomach. I kneeled to the floor and there was not much blood but bullet pierced into my stomach. But i was not feeling any pain at this time. I doubted that bullet had not gone deep enough and hence i was not feeling any pain.

But after a while i was really worried since, now i started realizing that iam gonna die but still i dont have any pain. I was so much worried that i informed my dad about the bullet in my stomach. I think i called him up or someone passed on the message to him. He didnt take it seriously since he didnt believe that it was true. I had no other chance now to either save my self or giveup by dying. But i was not dying too. I was roaming here and there like a fool in search of knowing what to do now.

Then it was too difficult for me to control the stress upon me that iam gonna die. So i asked some one to shoot me so that i can die in a single shot than dying sometime later by udergoing the trauma of tension. Then i dont know who it was but someone shot me right in between my backside of my neck as he didnt wanted to shoot me from frontside. Even now i didnt feel any pain and i was checking whether the bullet really pierced into me. I passed my fingers over the wound the bullet created on my neck and found blood spilling out in very little quantity. Still i dont have any pain and i was not dying. I think now i asked one more person to shoot me and he did too. Even then no pain. When all this happend and i was not feeling any pain someone came to me and told me that i can still live if medicated. Now i was happy at the same time worried since now i was hurt by three bullet and my chances of dying have increased by three. I was almost like breaking up into tears since i have taken this decision in a hurry and got hurt by two extra bullets. While i was crying i realised that I was still having no pain.

This point in my dream is one of the most revolutionized part throughout my dreaming world since i detected that i was in a dream and also logically. That was becoz i was shot by three bullets though i was not feeling any pain. I can see the wound but no pain. WHY?

The answer to this big why is that i have seen and know how a bullet wound would probably look hence i would see the wound on my body. But i have never in my life have experienced the pain a bullet can on my body. Since i never knew that pain i.e how the pain would be, i didnt experienced the pain at all throughout my dream. This is one of the dream that i will never forget for the realism embedded in it.

LOVE BATTERY 2 HOURS

"Love Battery 2 Hours" is the second script which i wrote after OUATIF. It deals with a small unbelievable funny story of a guy who has 2 hours of battery time everyday, wanting to fall in love with a perfect girl for him, in order to accomplish 24 hrs battery for his life, with a sweet twist in the end.

This subject may not be my next Shortfilm which i direct. But eventually will fall into my story collection.

Start Action to Final Cut

After we have started shooting, on Dec 9th, many new problems started arising in the form of Actors dates-timings, weather and time etc. I had to totally concentrate on the project inorder to not to loose the grip since its my first project. I was totally focussed and i didnt even pick my calls during the shooting days. Suresh was the cinematographer for this project and his commitment to the project will be proved in th final output. We had to re-arrange the schedule every day and nothing went as planned but i was just seeing the completion meter in my mind since i just wanted the film to be wrapped and not neccesarily in orderly fashion.

We didnt eat properly didnt answer calls, didnt even booze properly coz we friends are very much into it. 3 days almost 16 hrs of shoot each day. that is how the shoting went. Finally the day came were i got to take my flight and reach my place. I was very much worried when i woke up that day as we were left over with some thing around 25% of the shooting. it was  Sunday and i had to take flight in the evening. I was pissed and we didnt shoot that day till noon as i was bit pissed off as i was not able to finish off the project.But at noon i got a call from the airlines saying that the flight has been delayed from sunday to tuesday since Minneapolis was hit by worst snow storm. I was jumping in happiness. then i called the crew and finished some important scenes that day and rest of the scenes on Monday and got my Flight on Tuesday and came back as a happy man.

After shooting i have been editing the videos which we shot on my old weak processor laptop. Actually we needed a much better and powerfull processor for editing but i wanted to give it a shot since we had no budget for our film. Till date we are done with 95% Final Cut and within few days we are approaching our Music Director Mr. Shivaram Pasham for his Original BGM.

Bound Script to Start Action

After finalizing the script, i had conversations with multiple of friends in gathering enough information to justify my script. I did some elementary research in gathering information about which camera to use, what all equipment we need, and by when. After lot of yes and no's, acceptance's and rejection's we have decided the start of our schedule. December 8th, 2010 was the start of our schedule and i had fly to Fairfax, VA from Minneapolis, MN for thr project.

This was the tough phase for me becoz i was very much excited in directing this script since i moulded each and scene in my mind before i wrote it. So waiting was so paifull. Finally when i landed in Fairfax on Dec 8th at 11.45 pm. We immediatly went to the location and quickly discussed few scenes and costumes and the Shot design. Decemeber 9th 1.00am was the time when i first said Start Action. And the shooting went on for 3-4 days Non-stop in rain, cold, day and night.
