Emotion(s)

Since i have been studying Emotions from couple of years, I thought its the time to write it down. Studying Emotions according to me is a journey. One cannot know how the journey is unless he/she travels through it. So coming across few ups and downs in my life at this early stage, i have been in a journey of understanding and studying Emotions because of being subjected to many emotions frequently, i started wondering what is it after all and interpreted it in my own way.

An Emotion is basically a Thought that becomes a spontaneous physical Reaction. We come across many thoughts everyday leading to many Emotions. We experience these Emotions depending upon the thought we are been thinking at that particular instance and it is also correlated to type of thought process we have.

For example, when you come out of your house along with your friend one morning, your friend might feel its a wonderfull day as he got no problems running background in his mind and you have some problems which have been affecting your thoght process, feel it as a disgusting day. Both feeling Wonderfull and feeling Disgust are two different types of emotions experienced by two different individuals when subjected to same environment. But in contrary if your thought process is strong enough to handle the troubles or the situations which are being considered as troubles by your mind according to the belief system built inside it, you too feel the same as your friend, who experienced the same environment along with you.

I can give you an even better example of how emotions influence our Humans because of the thought process we have and also what kind of belief system we have built for ourselves. Lets consider the results of final match of 2009-IPL cricket. It was Deccan chargers team representing Hyderabad city won the title and we found every cricket fan in Hyderabad was Happy (emotion) because according to their belief system they are from Hyderabad so they thought that Deccan chargers should win the game and when it won the game their thought became reaction expressing an Emotion called Happiness. But at the same time cricket fans in bangalore who thought that Royal challengers should win as it was the team against whom Deccan chargers won in finals, were dissapointed. They were sad because their thought was to see Royal Challengers as winners, but they didnt so hence they expressed the emotion of Sadness as a result for their thought.

Considering the same context above, there were many Indians out there watching the game just for fun irrespective of the city they belong to. Many such were also from the above mentioned cities, though they were not subjected to any kind of emotion, because they didnt expect anything. So type of emotion you experience depends upon the belief system and the thought process you have. Better to build a belief system which is least subjected to emotions.

Different types of emotions i discussed above can play very important role in our life because emotions affect the routine lives in many ways. Like for example, emotions like Happiness,Surprise, Amusement,Satisfaction and Excitement can keep your day fine without any trouble, but at the same time emotions like Fear, Anger, Sadness, Disgust and Embarrasment not only ruin your day but also affect your health.
